Council Executive voted to grant Ladywell Community Council £750 towards a trip for local children to see the pantomime and Christmas lights in Glasgow.
Ladywell Community Council are contributing the additional £356 required to fully fund the £1,106 trip, which will see 40 local children enjoy a trip to The Magical Adventures of Pinocchio pantomime in January 2020.
Leader of the Council Lawrence Fitzpatrick said: "I am delighted that the council can help support Ladywell Community Council with this worthwhile project.
"A trip into the city to see a show can be expensive for some families, so this will ensure that all the children can enjoy a special trip without having to worry about the cost."
West Lothian Council operates a special project grant scheme for community councils in West Lothian to allow them to carry out projects in their areas. Community councils can apply for a maximum of £750 special project funding in each financial year.
Funding for the scheme was 2019/20 was £3000, and applications are dealt with on a first come first served basis. Community councils who retain more than £75 of their annual grant from the previous financial year are expected to contribute 10% towards the project.
