Positive inspection report for Armadale Primary

Armadale Primary School and Nursery Class are celebrating a positive report from both Education Scotland and the Care Inspectorate.

Armadale Primary

Inspectors rated the popular school as good in every category assessed, identifying both areas of strong performance and those which would benefit from further improvement.

Key strengths noted by the inspection team included the supportive and nurturing ethos throughout the school and nursery class, with positive and respectful relationships between children, and between children and staff as well as the quality of the indoor and outdoor learning environments in the early learning centre which stimulate children's learning.

They also praised the effective partnership working to meet the learning needs of all children and the positive culture towards reading which has been developed by staff and that children enjoy and engage confidently in their learning.

The inspection team's validation of the school's identified areas for improvement was welcomed. These areas were to develop further opportunities for staff to share effective practice in learning and teaching and to further improve approaches to tracking children's achievements.

Armadale Primary Seconded Headteacher Julie Ross said: "As a school we are delighted to receive a positive report from the inspectors at both Education Scotland and Care Inspectorate.

"We welcome their recognition of the good work taking place in the school and we are well placed and indeed well underway in taking the recommendations forward as part of the school improvement plan.

"A huge thank you to all the pupils, staff and those from the wider school community who have contributed to this positive report for Armadale Primary School."

Executive councillor for education David Dodds added: "It's fantastic to see the inspection team recognizing the good work taking place at Armadale Primary.

"Congratulations to everyone connected with the school, and I'm sure this positive report will be used to help further improve the education experience for all Armadale Primary pupils."
