Bookbug makes hospital visit

The Children's Ward at St John's Hospital in Livingston received a special visitor recently.

13 June
Bookbug at St John's

To celebrate Bookbug week, Children's reading mascot Bookbug dropped in to visit children on the ward, accompanied by West Lothian Council's Library Services Bookbug session leader, Dianne Elliot.

They held a special Bookbug session for the children and everyone had a wonderful time reading, singing and rhyming. They also enjoyed a lovely picnic prepared by the ward nurses.

Bookbug encourages all parents and carers to enjoy books with their children from as young an age as possible, developing a lifelong love of books.  Bookbug sessions are fun, free and friendly events, available in most libraries in West Lothian.  Each session lasts around 30 minutes and includes songs, stories and rhymes.
