Broxburn Library proving popular since move

Broxburn library is proving more popular than ever with visitors since its move into Strathbrock Partnership Centre over one year ago.

07 June

The Library relocated to Strathbrock Partnership Centre from its previous home in West Main Street in March 2017.

More than a year on the Library has welcomed approximately three times more visitors, and success can be seen with book lending figures going up by 19%.

There has also been an increase in active membership which has gone up by 10%.

The move was part of a £400,000 refurbishment project that has delivered a bright, new library and museum for local residents, further enhancing the wide range of council and health services available at Strathbrock Partnership Centre

Executive Councillor for Culture and Leisure Dave King said: "Since the library has relocated to the Strathbrock Partnership Centre it has went from strength to strength, delivering an excellent service to more people in the local community than ever before. The relocation was part of our ongoing strategy to bring services under one roof and to reduce costs whilst more importantly improving service delivery to the residents of West Lothian. I hope that visitors continue to enjoy the Library amongst other facilities in the Partnership Centre in the coming years."
