The team joined the pupils at Linlithgow Primary on Friday 11 May as they were taking part in a litter pick ahead of a week of action as part of Keep Scotland Beautiful's "Give your Litter a Lift" campaign.
The national campaign aims to address the problem of roadside litter by encouraging people to 'give your litter a lift, take it home'. During the week of action from 12-19 May the Cleaner Communities Team will be spreading the campaign message and will be taking part in a number of events across West Lothian.
The litter pick at Linlithgow Primary school coincided with the "Great Plastic Pick Up" weekend, a UK wide initiative encouraging people to get out and tackle plastic litter in their area.
Executive Councillor for the Environment Tom Conn said: "We always encourage people to protect and look after the fantastic environment we have here in West Lothian. A big part of this is thinking twice before littering and thinking of the damage that can be caused. This is a fantastic campaign and we are delighted to support it here in West Lothian so I would urge everyone to always remember, 'give your litter a lift, take it home'."
