Taking place globally on May 17 each year, IDAHOBiT is a day to stand together and show support for the ongoing violence and discrimination experienced by LGBT+ people across the world.
The global focus this year was 'Alliance for Solidarity' and further detail can be found at https://dayagainsthomophobia.org/
An event was held at West Lothian Civic Centre to celebrate IDAHOBiT day which culminated in the raising of the Rainbow Flag.
The event also saw the launch of West Lothian Pride 2018.
The 4th West Lothian Pride will take place on Saturday 28 July 2018 from 1:00pm within the Pride Village at West Lothian College. This free fun filled community event aims to bring together the local and wider communities of West Lothian and beyond.
Deputy leader of West Lothian Council, Kirsteen Sullivan said: "West Lothian Council is committed to raising awareness of LGBT+ issues and creating an inclusive and safe environment for people living and working in our communities. Days like today allow us to appreciate that as a society we have come a long way but there is still work to be done when it comes to LGBT+ issues. There is no better day to celebrate the launch of West Lothian Pride 2018 and we are counting down the days until the event on 28 July."
