Unfortunately planned resurfacing work on the access to Blackridge Primary School has not proceeded to plan. On attending the site, the repair crew and engineer identified a drainage issue which was initially thought to be a blocked gully. However, further investigation revealed the drainage pipe to be broken in two places and requires to be replaced. As the drainage problem would undermine any resurfacing work, the decision was taken to postpone that until the drainage pipe can be replaced. Unfortunately, this cannot be programmed until Easter 2019 at the earliest as the work will require closure of the access for 2 weeks. In the meantime, we are undertaking the resurfacing works on the footways adjacent to the school as planned. We will continue to monitor the condition of the access road during the winter and undertake temporary repairs as necessary to keep the access road safe.
