West Lothian Council's Executive has agreed to let part of the popular country park for a period over the winter for a special Christmas lightshow, along with a festive market.
Linlithgow-based Rowen Events will run the attraction in partnership with experienced event management firm Unique Events. The lease will run from 11 November until 13 January each year for the next five years.
The event will be ticketed, and access to the illumination trail will be restricted in the afternoon and evenings. The rest of the park, including the popular visitor centre and café, will remain accessible to the public during the event.
Executive councillor for the environment Tom Conn said: "We welcome plans to bring a new Christmas visitor attraction to Beecraigs Country Park from 2019.
"The country park already receives thousands of visitors every year and this will ensure the park continues to be well-used in the quieter winter period, as well as generating some additional revenue for the council."
