West Lothian Council is investing money from the Capital Maintenance Programme to create 20 new car parking spaces in North Street, Armadale, close to Armadale Partnership Centre.
The two week programme will start on Monday 18 March for two weeks, and is being carried out by JH Civil Engineering Ltd on behalf of the council.
The existing 20 space car park will be closed to the public during these two weeks, to allow the contractor to safely carry out the works.
A West Lothian Council spokesperson said: "The extension to the car park in North Street will help increase parking capacity at a busy area of Armadale, by taking the total number of spaces up to 40.
"This will give additional spaces to help those using facilities nearby, such as Armadale Partnership Centre, the doctor's surgery, new town war memorial, local shops or Watson Park.
"We regret any inconvenience caused while this improvement work is completed."
