Commonwealth Day 2019 fell on Monday 11 March. This is an annual event in which the member countries of the Commonwealth celebrate their links with one another.
The event attended by locals and workers, included speeches delivered by the Lord-Lieutenant for West Lothian, Ms Moira Niven and Provost Tom Kerr.
The Commonwealth Flag was raised at 10am and was followed by two songs performed by children from Howden St Andrew's Primary School Choir.
Lord-Lieutenant for West Lothian, Ms Moira Niven said: "Commonwealth Day is a great event that allows member countries from across the Commonwealth to celebrate their links with one another. It also presents a fantastic opportunity for us all to learn more about the history of Commonwealth and to show that the Commonwealth has a place in our hearts."
Provost Tom Kerr said: "Commonwealth Day is always a great occasion for us all to promote shared Commonwealth values of peace, democracy, equality and diversity.
"A huge thank you to everyone who attended and special thanks to the choir from Howden St Andrews choir for their excellent performance to bring the event to a close."
