West Lothian's businesses are being encouraged to consider roundabout sponsorship as an effective way of promoting their brand.
West Lothian Council's roundabout sponsorship programme can costs as little as £13 per week per sign and there are 70 roundabouts available across the county.
One local company to take advantage of the roundabout sponsorship programme recently is Scoffable. Based in Livingston, Scoffable provides online takeaway ordering to thousands of takeaways across Scotland. Michael Brown from Scoffable said: "The roundabout sponsorship is a fantastic way for us to promote our online takeaway service across West Lothian, we work with a large majority of takeaways in the West Lothian area so it is great to support them and the council locally."
The council's agreements are month to month - subject to a full month's notice. Each sign costs £125 to produce and there is a single admin fee of £100. Rental agreements are then:
1 sign then costs £100 per calendar month
2 signs cost £180 per month
3 signs - £240 per month
4 signs - £280 per month. Every additional sign is an extra £70 per month
Executive councillor for development and transport, Cathy Muldoon said: "The sponsorship programmer has run for many years and lots of local companies have taken advantage of the visibility the adverts provide.
"One sign can be seen thousands of times and it is a low cost and effective form of advertising for local companies."
