
Valneva, which specialises in vaccine development, has reached agreement in principle with the UK Government to provide up to 100 million doses of its SARS CoV-2 vaccine candidate, to be manufactured in its Livingston plant.
David Lawrence, Chief Financial Officer of Valneva, said: "We are a global company and our facility in West Lothian is thriving. Our workforce, many of whom are local to West Lothian, are delighted to have been selected to take participate in this important program with the UK Government. It was tremendous to meet Council Leader Fitzpatrick and tell him more about our work and plans for the future."

West Lothian has a strong life science, technology, engineering and manufacturing sector which are key contributors to economic growth in the local area.
