West Lothian Council have installed the new screens, thanks to £40,000 funding from Paths for All's Smarter Choices, Smarter Places programme and £10,000 from SEStran to cover the cost of the project.
The real-time travel information (RTI) screens will replace older screens and provide accurate bus timetable information for passengers at the terminal. Linking in with bus operators own systems, the screens have also been mounted on Existing concrete columns to reduce the risk of vandalism.
Leader of West Lothian Council Lawrence Fitzpatrick joined with James Gray from Paths for All and Lorna Cunningham from the council's Public Transport team to mark the completion of the project.
Livingston bus terminal is located between The Centre and the Livingston Designer Outlet.
Leader of West Lothian Council Lawrence Fitzpatrick said: "I'm delighted that the new RTI screens are now fully operational at Livingston bus terminal.
"The location is a real hub for Livingston and the wider West Lothian area, with many people coming here to visit the shops or restaurants, or access services.
"The real-time updates will be hugely appreciated by businesses, bus operators and passengers alike."
Graham McQueen, Smarter Choices, Smarter Places Manager at Path for All said: "Having up-to-date, reliable information about local bus services helps people to make that choice to leave the car at home and use a more sustainable form of transport.
"It's also fantastic to see these screens installed just in time for Christmas to keep shoppers and restaurant-goers informed about local buses which can be a stress-free alternative to festive traffic and finding a place to park.
"More people using public transport more often means fewer cars on the road which reduces carbon emissions and improves air quality for everyone."
Councillor Gordon Edgar, Chair of SEStran added: "SEStran is proud of the work done on real time passenger information to support and encourage public transport use as part of the vision to develop a sustainable transport system that works for everyone across the South East of Scotland and beyond.
"Working in partnership with local authorities, including West Lothian Council, is key to making this happen. It is great to see the Livingston Centre getting a much-needed update and SEStran is happy to be part of the solution."
Executive councillor for development and transport Cathy Muldoon said "It's fantastic to see these new screens working well for the benefit for many West Lothian residents.
"A reliable and robust solution source of live bus timetable information will help encourage people to use public transport and reduce their carbon footprint.
"It will also encourage more residents to use local businesses, which helps support the West Lothian economy."
