Help with costs

Called Help With Costs, the campaign aims to highlight the advice and information that is available on key areas such as:

  • Energy use
  • Benefits
  • Financial support
  • Help with school costs

A guide has been developed and is available to collect from Partnership Centre and libraries and may assist people through the cost of living crisis. The guide contains practical advice on what help may be available and is packed full of practical advice on ways to save on energy costs.

There is also an online hub available providing more information at: Cost of Living Hub West Lothian

Nahid Hanif, West Lothian Council's Anti-Poverty Manager said:

"I think everyone is aware of the cost of living crisis and the pressures being felt by many, many people. Whist we all feel the impact of rising costs, the scale of cost increases means that, for many, they are faced with drastic choices that include; simply not ever being able to turn their heating on or being able to buy food.

"Our campaign aims to raise awareness of the various support that is available and provide advice and information. We know from experience that many people in West Lothian have been helped by our team of experts already, and we're appealing to local people to look at the information provided via our online hub and make sure that they are aware of the various support on offer."

The council's Advice Shop is on hand to provide advice and support on a wide range of issues:
