Applications by both community councils for funds from the special projects fund were approved by Council Executive.
Torphichen Community Council were awarded the maximum £750 towards the costs of continuing publication, printing and distribution of the Torphichen News newsletter. The newsletter is distributed 10 times per years, and helps keep local residents informed about news in the village.
Ladywell Community Council in Livingston also received £525 towards the costs of taking local senior citizens to see the pantomime at the Pavilion Theatre in Glasgow.
The total budget for the fund is £3,000 for 2022/23, with a maximum of £750 allocated to successful applications on a first-come, first-served basis. This leaves £1,725 remaining in the fund for community councils who wish to apply in this financial year.
Interim Head of Corporate Service Lesley Henderson said: "We are pleased to support Torphichen and Ladywell Community Councils with funding for their special projects this year.
"Both applications were successful, as they met the criteria of benefiting the local communities served by the community councils."
