I am immensely proud of our citizens, businesses and organisations for coming together and reaching out to support one another over the course of 2022. Long may that spirit of compassion last.
It is my genuine hope that you all are able to take some time to spend with family and friends this Christmas, and to reflect on the small things that we often can take for granted, but that often matter the most.
Taking time away from the hustle and bustle of daily life and being mindful of what we have here and now is really important and I wish that for everyone.
I'd like to pay tribute to all council staff for their continued hard work on behalf of residents and often in very difficult circumstances. To our NHS and all emergency responders who work every day across the festive period to keep us safe and well. I'm sure everyone will join me in sending you a special thank you for all that you do for us.
I would like to take this opportunity of wishing everyone a peaceful festive period and a healthy and happier New Year. Enjoy time with those you love and care for, but remember to protect one another and those in our communities that need support.
A very merry and peaceful Christmas and a happy New Year to one and all.
