The Third Sector Community Support Fund 2023/24 is now open for applications of up to £50,000 per organisation.

The focus of the fund is to support projects and services that address one or more of West Lothian Council's eight priorities, with those that support communities through the cost of living crisis a key consideration in any award.

The council is particularly keen to see projects that target communities in the bottom 20% of Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation (SIMD) data zones, as well as those which support the aims of the Economic Recovery Plan, Anti-Poverty Action Plan and the work of Local Regeneration Steering Groups.

Executive councillor for economy, community empowerment and wealth building Kirsteen Sullivan said: "I would encourage any third sector organisation working in priority areas to check if they could be eligible for support.

"We know the excellent work carried out by our third sector and their volunteers in West Lothian, and we hope this fund will support them to deliver even more for our communities.

"As our resources are very limited, we would especially like to support projects which have the greatest impact, such as those that help mitigate the impact of the cost of living crisis or target our least affluent communities in particular."

A special information session to provide an overview on the TSCSF has been arranged for Monday, 23 January 2023 at 1pm. Up to 20 people can attend physically at the Voluntary Sector Gateway West Lothian (VSGWL) office in Bathgate, with unlimited online attendees via Teams. The session will also be recorded for anyone unable to make the date.
