Almond Valley Heritage Centre has been granted permission to move their existing entrance and main access route 50m further north. The current entrance will be closed and replaced with gates and planters.
The relocation of the access away from the front of the building will make the area around the building entrance safer for pedestrians, in particular families and children. The existing informal footpath which is located at the proposed new entrance point will be replaced by a formal pedestrian access, which will allow people to continue to use the route connecting Millfield to Thirlfield Wynd.
A number of trees and shrubs will be removed to allow the new access but an equal amount of new planting will be put in place.
