
He joins West Lothian Council from East Dunbartonshire, where he served as Principal Teacher then Deputy Head at St Ninian's High School in Kirkintilloch for a number of years.
A former Modern Studies and Politics teacher, Mr Sheerin is also a published author and has written a number of textbooks to support the delivery of Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) courses in Modern Studies.
He achieved his degree in History at Strathclyde University before starting his career in Education, and has since completed both the Into Headship qualification and the Head Teachers Leadership Academy with the Columba 1400 charity.
In his spare time, David enjoys spending time with his young family, coaching girl's football and is a keen guitarist.
