Christmas scene at Livingston Village

A number of community groups from around West Lothian have organised events in their local areas over November and December.

Here are all the events that we are aware of, please go along and support your local celebration.

We will update this list when we hear more about events.


Sunday 23 November 2025 

Deans Community Christmas Fair - organised by Deans Gala Day committee

  • Head along to  Livingston Station Community Centre between 12.30pm to 2.30pm in. Head along for some festive food, gifts, games, and much more. Entry is by donation.


Tuesday 25 November 2025 

Polbeth Santa Parade - organised by Polbeth Hub.

  • Polbeth Hub will be hosting an event with stalls, Santa's Grotto, Christmas gifts, free craft activities and much more.
  • Santa will be leaving on his sleigh to parade around the village at 6pm.

Friday 28 November 2025

Armadale Santa Parade - Organised by Armadale Partnership Centre Management Committee

  • The parade will leave at 6.15pm from outside Armadale Parish Church, Academy Street, to West Main Street, Main Cross, turn left, North Street and parade disperses at Armadale Community Centre/Partnership Centre.
  • The centre is also hosting both afternoon and evening fairs on the day. The afternoon fair is for those aged 4 years and under and takes place from 1pm to 3pm, while the evening fair runs from 6.30-9pm, with both events having Santa's grotto, café, bouncy castles, face painters and other entertainment. Tickets are £1 or £2 with Santa Visit and must be booked in advance via the partnership centre.

Livingston Village - Organised by Livingston Village Gala Day

  • Festivities start from 5.30pm with a torchlight procession from Livingston Village Primary School to the village square. Other activities include Carol singing at Kirk Lane Care Home, festive stalls and a very special visitor. The tree lights switch-on takes place at 6pm.  

Saturday 29 November 2025

Linlithgow Advent Fayre - organised by Linlithgow Advent Fayre Association 

  • The parade will assemble at Low Port Centre in Blackness Road from 4pm. The procession will leave Low Port at 5pm and proceed along Linlithgow High Street as far as St John's Avenue. It will use the traffic triangle there to loop round and then back down as far as Linlithgow Cross where the Christmas lights will be switched on.

Greenrigg - Organised by Greenrigg Community Council

  • An afternoon of festive community fun takes place in Greenrigg Evangelical Church from 2pm onwards, with the Christmas Tree switch-on at 5pm.

Seafield - Organised by Seafield Community Council

  • Event starts at 5.30pm with a World cup theme, so bring along your tartan and saltires. There will be a Santa postbox, free selection boxes for kids ahead of the tree switch-on at 6pm. A brass ensemble from Seafield Primary and Deans Community High will play Christmas tunes, with mince pies at the bowling club afterwards.

Winchburgh Christmas Fayre - Organised by Winchburgh Gala Day committee

  • Takes place in Winchburgh Bowling Club from 1pm to 5pm, with Santa's Grotto, handmade gifts, jewellery, sweets and much more.

East Calder Torchlight Procession - organised by East Calder & District Gala Committee 

  • The procession will meet at East Calder Sports Centre car park, leaving at 6pm. Led by Bathgate Brass Band, the procession will head through Seven Wells estate, down Langton Road, onto Main Street along to Dave King Partnership Centre, where the Christmas Tree will be lit and the 2026 Gala Queen chosen.

Torphichen - Organised by Torphichen Community Education Centre Management committee.

  • A Christmas Market will take place in Torphichen Community Centre from 1.30pm, with the tree switch-on event at 4.30pm.

Kirknewton - Organised by Kirknewton Gala Committee

  • Tree switch-on at 5.30pm during community event, further details TBC.

Noelle in November Christmas fayre - Organised by Longridge Community Association

  • The festive afternoon of cheer takes place in Longridge Community Centre from 12noon to 3pm. It features stalls, gifts, treats and festive fun, with a £2 entry on the door (Free for children).

Saturday 6 December 2025

Whitburn Santa Parade - organised by Whitburn Community Centre Committee (Subject to Licensing approval)

  • The parade assembles at the access road of Whitburn Community Centre. Parade leaves at 4.30pm, then turns right and walks northwards (past telephone exchange and keeping to the left of the roadway. Parade then continues northwards to follow Manse Road to Whitburn Cross to the Christmas tree located at the public space at Whitburn Partnership Centre where the parade ends.

Mid Calder Tree lighting service - Organised by Mid Calder Children Community Council and Kirk of Calder

  • A service will take place in the Kirk of Calder from 6pm. After the service Santa will be outside to meet the children and the Gala Queen and King will switch on the tree lights around 6.30pm. All attending will be given glow sticks and Santa will be handing out selection boxes to the children
  • There will be no torchlight procession for health and safety reasons.

Bathgate - Organised byBathgate Together

  • A Christmas Street Market will be open in The Steelyard and George Street,  from 12noon until 6pm, run and managed by Bathgate Market CIC. The traditional carol service will start from 4pm, accompanied by local bands, and speech of reflection from Rev. Alex McAspurren, Minister at Bathgate Parish Church.  The afternoon will conclude with the seasonal countdown and switch on of the festive tree lights at 4.30pm, which this year will be done by the Bathgate Procession Lead Characters, Walter and Marjorie, standing alongside our special guest Santa Claus.

Winchburgh - Organised by Winchburgh Community Council

  • Takes place in the Tally Ho car park, with Santa arriving at 5.15pm and the tree switch-on at 5.30pm.

Broxburn Christmas Tree switch-on with Gala Queen Leah McKay- Organised by Broxburn Community Council

  • Takes place from 5pm to 7pm outside the former library in East Main Street. The event will have music from Broxburn and Livingston brass bands, and Broxburn United Sports Club choir. Santa will also be attendance for the tree switch-on, which takes place at 6pm.

Sunday 7 December 2025

West Calder Santa Parade - organised by West Calder & Harbour Community Development Trust

  • Assemble at Parkhead Primary. Parade commences at 4.30pm from Harburn Road, turning right onto B7008 Harburn Road, turning left onto A71 East End, continue along A71 Main Street, turn left onto Dickson Street then turn right into West Calder Community HUB.

Sunday 14 December 2025

Stoneyburn Santa Parade - organised by the Stoneyburn and Bents Future Vision Group (Subject to Licensing approval)

  • Taking place from 5pm, the parade meets at Stoneyburn Workshops, 4 Main Street, before heading down towards Stoneyburn Primary School. Route heads along Cuthill Crescent and Stoneyburn Main Street, pausing at the War Memorial to lay a wreath. Parade then heads towards Bents, along Burnbrae Road, Lighton Terrace, Burnlee Drive, Crofthead Road, Redcroft Terrace, Main Street into Stoneyburn, pausing at the Miners' Memorial to lay a wreath. It will then continue along Main Street, and end the parade by turning back into the car park of the Stoneyburn Workshops.

Blackburn Santa Parade - Organised by Blackburn Children's Gala Day Committee (Subject to Licensing approval)

  • The front of the procession will start at 7pm at the junction of Bathgate Road and Ash Grove. Vehicles will be lined up on Ash Grove and the end of the procession on Rowan Street to Rowan Drive junction then proceed via Ash Grove, Bathgate Road, Riddochhill Road, Ladeside Avenue, Ladeside Road, Bathgate Road, Mosside Road, Rowan Street, Rowan Drive, Elm Grove and finish back on Ash Grove.
