Valentine's celebrations are a great chance to show people how much you love them, as well as boosting local businesses
We are fortunate that West Lothian's traditional town centres and villages have a wide range of shops, restaurants and attractions for anyone looking for the perfect gift, meal or event to mark the occasion.
Whatever you chose to spend your money on this Valentine's Day, keeping it local helps support jobs and the economy across West Lothian.
According to the Centre for Local Economic Strategies (CLES), 70p from every £1 spent with an independent retailer stays in the local economy. Independent retailers are also more likely to live locally, so more of the money they receive will be invested back into the local community.
Depute Leader of West Lothian Council, Susan Manion, said: "West Lothian has some fantastic local businesses who are more than deserving of your love and business this Valentine's Day.
"From excellent restaurants, unique shops and local landmarks, West Lothian and its town centres have a huge range of options to suit all tastes.
"It's a wonderful chance to rediscover some of the great businesses that West Lothian has to offer and find that perfect gift."
