Council Executive has approved the designation of Linlithgow Primary School as the polling place for voters in BLB1J and BLB1K in Linlithgow, some of whom previously voting in the towns' Queen Margaret Hall.

Council Executive also approved a change in Whitburn in respect of Brucefield Church Hall (BLB7E),  with these voters moving to Whitburn Partnership Centre.

As a reminder it is important that voters take time to check their polling card as this indicates where you should attend to cast your vote. If you are a registered voter then the change in polling venue will be reflected on your polling card.

The report to Council Executive also highlighted other arrangements being made for the delivery of the Scottish Parliament Election on Thursday, 7 May 2026. Due to the two ballot papers and two voting systems, the Scottish Parliamentary Election requires significant resources for its delivery and the Returning Officer is working to ensure that it can be delivered. The previous Scottish Parliament election was delivered under Covid restrictions and there are a number of further changes which are being incorporated in to the planning process for the forthcoming poll, including boundary and legislative changes.

New Scottish Parliamentary constituency and region boundaries are in place for this election. West Lothian is now split over three constituencies. Linlithgow ward is split between

the Bathgate and the Falkirk East and Linlithgow constituencies. The town of Linlithgow is in the Falkirk East and Linlithgow constituency and this is being administered by Kenneth Lawrie, Returning Officer for the other Falkirk constituencies. Work is ongoing with colleagues in Falkirk Council election team on the arrangements for delivering the poll. West Lothian now sits within the Central Scotland and Lothians West Region.
