The annual celebration takes place on Sunday 15 March 2026, with a huge range of West Lothian businesses you can support if you are looking for gifts, meals or activities to mark the occasion.

West Lothian's traditional town centres and villages have a number of shops, restaurants and attractions to help you find the perfect way to show your love for mum.

Whatever you choose to spend your money on this Mother's Day, keeping it local helps support West Lothian jobs, supporting families and the community.

According to the Centre for Local Economic Strategies (CLES), 70p from every £1 spent with an independent retailer stays in the local economy. Independent retailers are also more likely to live locally, so more of the money they receive will be invested back into the local community.

Depute Council Leader Susan Manion said: "Please consider keeping it local when looking for the perfect gift for the perfect mum this year.

"We have a number of fantastic shops, quality restaurants and amazing experiences in West Lothian for anyone looking for a gift, with a number offering bespoke or unique gifts.

"By keeping in local this year, you can play their part in making sure we have a vibrant local economy that helps everyone. You don't need to spend a lot, but even buying a small token of your appreciation will also help business in West Lothian.

"Supporting a local business means that more of every pound you spend will stay in West Lothian, creating and sustaining jobs and helping local families."
