A public consultation exercise is now underway, seeking the views of the public on potentially developing a network of Journey Hubs in West Lothian.
What are Journey Hubs? - Sometimes called mobility hubs, Journey Hubs bring transport options together in one safe, accessible place. They make it easier for people to combine different modes of travel, offering facilities such as bus connections, shared bikes, walking and cycling routes, and clear, easy-to-use information. The aim is to make every day journeys simpler, greener, and more convenient for everyone.
Over the next two weeks, the project team will be visiting communities across West Lothian to talk with residents, businesses, and community groups about what they need from future Journey Hubs. If you spot the team out and about, make sure to stop and speak to us, we'd really value your ideas and experiences.
Engagement sessions will take place at numerous locations, including:
- Bathgate Partnership Centre - Monday 30 March, 10am-12pm
- West Calder Main Street - Monday 30 March, 1-3pm
- Armadale Partnership Centre - Tuesday 31 March, 10am-12pm
- Whitburn Partnership Centre - Tuesday 31 March, 1-3pm
- Livingston Bus Terminus - Wednesday 8 April, 10-12pm
- St John's Hospital - Wednesday 8 April, 1pm-3pm
ยท Linlithgow High Street - Thursday 9 April, 1-3pm
As well as chatting to people out and about, an online survey is now open for anyone who would like to take part. The survey allows people to share their views on priorities, challenges and opportunities relating to the future Journey Hub network.
You can access the survey by pressing the link below:
West Lothian Council Journey Hubs
The Council is encouraging people to share the survey within their networks to help reach as many people as possible.
The feedback will help shape the ongoing feasibility work, including identifying the most suitable locations for Journey Hubs and the facilities they should offer.
