West Lothian Council is considering a number of changes to nurseries to ensure consistency with councils across Scotland.
Toronto Primary School Headteacher Fiona Linfoot said: "Hope was a much-loved member of the Toronto Primary family, and will be hugely missed by all her friends and school staff.
Primary pupils in West Lothian are top of the class when it comes to literacy and numeracy.
Proposals to launch a public consultation into changing the catchment areas for West Lothian's three denominational secondary schools and nine of their associated primary schools have been approved.
West Lothian Council is set to make £75.1 million of capital investment during 2024/25 to support the delivery of essential services for local residents.
Major improvement work is taking place at Kirkhill Primary in Broxburn and Livingston Village Primary.
